Researching the theme and presenting its lesson bring that truth more closely home to students’ hearts in each class as they prepare for their two presentations during their week, and this marks a distinctive of BJA’s elementary chapel program. Of course, students also delight in dressing in period costumes or standing among scenery that helps frame the story.
Through the challenge or the class production, the gospel message is frequently given. Each year several boys and girls make professions of faith after chapel messages and programs. It is a joy to have former students describe the influence that elementary chapel had on their lives—at an age that is for many the time when the Lord began to speak to their hearts about His purpose for their lives.
Chapels reach beyond our students as parents and other relatives and friends of the children in the class program often attend. Many of these guests express what a blessing the chapel was. Occasionally someone who would not normally attend a church service comes to a school program as a result of a child’s invitation and hears the gospel message.
Chapels are open to the public and begin at 8:15 a.m. and run until about 9. Please come for a visit, whether or not you have a child in the elementary grades. We’d love to have you!
