Courses for middle school students include one elective, which meets daily during the regular school day. Report card grades are given for fine arts electives. Enrollment in fine arts electives is restricted by a number of factors, including enrollment limits in handbell choir, language, and speech. Because of this, second-choice electives will also be selected. Parents should watch for an email in late April to make the elective request for rising seventh- and eighth-grade students.

BJA will dismiss after a half day of school on Friday, May 8, to enable academy employees and families to attend the 2 p.m. Bob Jones University commencement exercises. The elementary, middle, and high school levels will dismiss at noon. See the school calendar on the website for altered schedule details. The preschool will continue as usual for the day. Late Stay will be offered at the elementary level; middle school students in late stay will join elementary late stay. Altered Schedule
The eighth-grade students have regular classes on Monday, December 15, and will be on the Williamsburg Trip Tuesday through Friday. The seventh-grade students have a regular schedule until Friday, December 19, when they will be dismissed at noon. Regular late stay is available until 5:30 p.m. that day; and parents whose middle school students stay for late stay that day should pick them up from the elementary main building.
Class schedules for the new year are now available in NetClassroom, and families can view them if they have completed online check-in and if their accounts are up-to-date with the Business Office as of August 5. If you are unable to log in to NetClassroom, or if you've forgotten your credentials, please call the middle school office for assistance.
After logging in to NetClassroom, select the correct child's name from the drop-down list on the left side of the page (if you have more than one child) and then click on "Registration" in the menu bar. The schedule automatically appears as a list, which can be a little difficult to read. We recommend that you click on the "Grid" option over on the left side of the page for a clear view your child's school day. Special note for 8th graders taking Honors Algebra in the high school: Your second semester math class will not appear in NetClassroom until Christmas vacation. Don't worry--you'll get to take math class second semester! If you have questions about your child's class schedule, please call 864.370.1800, ext. 6439, for assistance, or email our middle school registrar. We are looking forward to a fantastic year--thank you for choosing us to partner with you in your child's education! |
