BJA will dismiss after a half day of school on Friday, May 5, to allow academy employees and families to attend the 2 p.m. BJU commencement exercises. The elementary, middle, and high school levels will dismiss at noon. See the school calendar on the website for altered schedule details. The CDC will continue as usual for the day. Late stay will be offered at the elementary and middle school levels.
Achievement testing will begin next week. Eighth graders will be starting on Monday, April 3, and seventh graders will begin Wednesday, April 5. All students should come prepared with pencils, erasers, and scratch paper. Students should have a basic calculator ready for one math test as well.
Altered Schedule for April 5 - 6, 2017
The eighth-grade students have regular classes on Monday, December 12, and will be on the Williamsburg Trip Tuesday through Friday. The seventh-grade students have a regular schedule until Friday, December 16, when they will be dismissed at noon. Regular late stay is available until 5:30 p.m. that day.
During the final two weeks of school, middle school students have slightly altered schedules some days to accommodate all of our special year-end activities. For the convenience of families, we have posted a summary of the changes here.
As a reminder, school is dismissed at noon on September 23, and there is no school the following two days (Thursday and Friday, September 24 and 25) during the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools (SCACS) teachers convention.
Though the Academy has these days off, the University will have regular days of classes and work during SCACS—so BJU will provide child care (for employee children only) at the Primary Center for students in K3 through K5 and at Elementary Main for Grades 1 through 8. School lunches will not be available. Regular late stay is available for all families until 5:30 p.m. following the half-day of school on Wednesday, September 23. (Note: Parents whose middle school students stay for late stay that day should pick them up from the elementary building.) The altered schedule for high school classes is available on the school calendar. Care for all children (employee children and non-employee children) will continue as usual in the Child Development Center. BJA will dismiss after a half day of school on Friday, May 8, to enable academy employees and families to attend the 2 p.m. Bob Jones University commencement exercises. The elementary, middle, and high school levels will dismiss at noon. See the school calendar on the website for altered schedule details. The preschool will continue as usual for the day. Late Stay will be offered at the elementary level; middle school students in late stay will join elementary late stay. Altered Schedule
