Middle and high school grading operates on a semester-long basis. This means that next week’s report card is a “mid-term” report card and simply gives a snapshot of a student’s current grades. As additional grades are entered by the teachers through the remainder of the semester, the student’s grade will change; and the grade at the end of the semester will be the final and only permanent grade for the semester.
This contrasts with report card grades at the elementary level, where each quarter’s grades are final and are then averaged for a year-long grade.
Music lessons are not graded; instead, a nongraded assessment of student progress will be emailed to the student’s parent(s) by Monday, October 26.
