BJA will dismiss after a half day of school on Friday, May 5, to allow academy employees and families to attend the 2 p.m. BJU commencement exercises. The elementary, middle, and high school levels will dismiss at noon. See the school calendar on the website for altered schedule details. The CDC will continue as usual for the day. Late stay will be offered at the elementary and middle school levels.
The senior drama class, a.k.a., The Guild Dessert Theater, presents three versions (each version presented by a third of the students enrolled in drama) of “Dinner at Eight, Dead by Nine” on Saturday, May 6 at 5, 6:30, and 8 p.m. in the Applied Studies Building. The mayhem-filled murder mystery will be presented as a modified dinner theater, served by drama class members not in the current version’s cast. For the small price of $5 patrons enjoy the show as well as four cheesecake bites—and coffee and lemonade to wash them down. These $5 advance tickets may be purchased Monday through Wednesday from one of the 34 drama class members or at the Spirit Booth. Unsold seats will be available at the regular price of $7.50 from Thursday through show time on Saturday.
