Some of the work of the team will be behind closed doors as they review school material—from student and faculty handbooks to scope and sequence academic information. However, the eight team members (four each for the elementary and secondary divisions) will also visit numerous classes; observe other school functions; meet with the entire faculty; and have brief interviews with several parents, students, and faculty.
Should the team find all in order at BJA, they will give an initial statement of approval on Thursday; and within a few months the official report and official South Carolina Association of Christian Schools (SCACS) accreditation statement will be issued. As a result of the visit, the accreditation team will write commendations and recommendations. BJA will then create an action plan for the recommendations, and a one-year implementation of that plan leads to accreditation with the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in addition to SCACS accreditation.
Thank you for your prayers for the team as well as their work at BJA. We are grateful for the expertise they bring and for their willingness to take their time to review BJA. We look forward, Lord willing, to announcing a positive outcome very soon!
