In a continued effort to enhance school security, a new guest check-in system will be implemented beginning Monday, March 2, at the Primary Center and at the Elementary Main building. HallPass is an electronic guest tracking system used in schools across the United States. Using a guest’s photo ID, HallPass automatically recognizes an individual’s name and birthdate and generates a guest badge (good only for that day) that includes name, date, time, destination, and a picture. This badge format helps all school personnel as well as students quickly identify a guest and confirm that he/she has checked in through the office for a current visit. An added benefit is that during the check-in process, HallPass quickly determines if a guest is listed on the National Sex Offender Registry and/or the Violent Offender Against Youth Database and also notifies school administrators. We are excited to introduce this highly efficient and effective program as we continually address student safety. Beginning Monday, March 2, all guests to the Primary Center and Elementary Main will need to present a driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID when checking in. After the first visit with the new system in place, a guest will simply check in with office personnel to have his or her badge printed. At the end of all visits, guests should return to the office to check out.
